  15. STONE DESIGN ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF CREATE 2.0 FOR NEXTSTEP

  17. ALBUQUERQUE, NM, August 16, 1993 P Stone Design has announced that
  18. it will release a major upgrade to its full-color drawing program,
  19. Create, on October 1.
  20.  
  21. Create 2.0 will include many of the features that Stone announced
  22. earlier this year as planned for Create version 3.0. According to
  23. Andrew Stone, CEO of Stone Design, "The 2.0 release adds major
  24. functionality to Create, while meeting the demand for Create on
  25. NEXTSTEP for Intel Processors. User Patterns, multiple pages, and
  26. object linking are but a few of the new features and bug fixes."

  28. New Features for 2.0:

  30.  - NSFIP compatibility: Create 2.0 offers full compatibility with
  31. NEXTSTEP for Intel Processors on NeXT-qualified Intel-based
  32. hardware configurations and Motorola-based NeXT hardware.

  34.  - Hot links to and from Create: Include link buttons, icons and
  35. linked files in any Create document for automatic and
  36. manual updating; link to Create files from any other
  37. NEXTSTEP app that supports hot links.

  39.  - Filter support: Create supports Bacchus' ImageAgent image
  40. filters; e.g. drag and drop GIFs into Create.

  42.  - Unlimited Patterns: Create stunning patterns with unlimited
  43. variety. Share with friends.

  45.  - Multiple Pages: Add, duplicate and rearrange as many pages in a
  46. document as you like.

  48.  - Animate: Allows you to animate your pages with any delay.
  49.  
  50.  - Text into Editable Curves: Take any Super Text and turn into
  51. editable shapes. Create your own wild type!

  53.  - Unlimited Undo: Tell Create how many edit actions to remember,
  54. then Undo to your heart's content.

  56.  - On-line Help: Create 2.0 includes extensive on-line help based
  57. on the NEXTSTEP standard.

  59. Create 2.0 is offered in multiple-architecture binary form, making
  60. it compatible with both NeXT and Intel-based hardware running
  61. NEXTSTEP version 3.1 or later. In addition, Stone said, "This
  62. version of Create inherits a recent fix that we issued for NEXTSTEP
  63. 3.1 users, in the form of Create 1.2. If you're running 3.1, you
  64. definitely want this upgrade because it addresses changes to
  65. NEXTSTEP that impact certain Create documents."

  67. Create 2.0 can be shared on a network comprising both NeXT and
  68. Intel hardware; documents created on either machine can be opened
  69. on any other machine running the same version of Create.

  72. Like all Stone Design products, Create is available directly from
  73. the company and at the ftp sites orst.edu, sonata.cc.purdue.edu and
  74. ftp.cs.unm.edu. Students who ftp the package and submit proof of
  75. current student status can purchase Create at a special rate. No
  76. technical support is provided with this purchase option, but easy
  77. entry for students is a firm commitment of Stone Design.

  79. Create 2.0, which is available to registered users for $99, lists
  80. for $495. Trade-ups to Intel versions of all Stone software
  81. purchased between February 12, 1993 and May 21, 1993 are available
  82. free of charge to end users.
